Loren Dent currently serves as the Program Manager of Leaders of Color (LOC), a program that recruits, trains and supports black and brown leaders to run for office. In this work, Loren ensures that underserved communities have representation that looks like them and reflects their values.
Loren has always had a passion for service and assisting those in need. Prior to her current role, Loren was Research Manager at Education Reform Now, where she worked to ensure that all students had access to high quality education regardless of their race, income or zip code.
Loren's professional experience also includes serving as a White House Intern under President Barack Obama and an Intern for Innovations for Poverty Action while living in Accra, Ghana for half a year.
Loren's passion stems from her education at New York University where she received her Batchelor's Degree in International Relations (with Minors in Africana Studies and French, which she speaks professionally), and then received her Master's Degree in International Relations. Loren's graduate thesis on global gender parity in electoral processes earned her several awards and distinctions.
Loren currently resides in Brooklyn, NY and loves to garden and bee-keep in her spare time.
