Gayle Carter is Vice President of DeVoreCarter Communications and served as VP of Ophelia DeVore Associates and Grace Del Marco Models from 1993 to 2006. She was a primary catalyst in the expansion of the company’s individual training to include corporate seminars and workshops with the personal guidance of Ophelia DeVore. Gayle gained additional experience working with top tier Fortune 500 executives at CBS, Estee Lauder, EIC Intelligence and International Thompson.
In 2000, Gayle was among the DeVore staff presented with “The Outstanding African American Business Award” presented by the City of NY. She is also the recipient of the Ruby M. Bailey Outstanding Women of the World Award. Gayle has in her collection of keepsakes a personal letter from President Barack Obama offering congratulations as she moves forward onto the next stage of her career.
Gayle served as coordinator of the ODV TV Shows for over thirty years. DeVoreCarter Communications affords Gayle the opportunity to continue promoting the value of charm as an effective means of communication, as well as the power of positive thinking. She completed the Kepner-Tregoe Course of Problem Solving and Decision Making, a structured methodology for gathering, prioritizing and evaluating information. She contributes developing strong relationships as one of the foundations for success.
Marrying her passion for travel and fashion, Gayle coordinated and appeared in an underwater print campaign for Ophelia DeVore Cosmetics in the Caribbean Sea. She also assisted models in an exciting fashion presentation at the United Nations while at the DeVore Charm School. Paris and Cairo are among her favorite cities.
Gayle is a native of Charles City, VA, alum of Maggie L. Walker High School and attended Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA where she met Jim Carter, her husband of more than 53 years. They have three children and nine grandchildren.
Gayle is a supporter of the eradication of childhood hunger.
